Sunshine Youth Services Gulf and Lake Academy

Hillsborough Academy is a 25-bed high risk residential commitment program that provides specialized mental health treatment services for males up to the age of 13 at the time of disposition. Hillsborough Academy is Located at 9506 East Columbus Drive, Tampa, fl 33619.
Hillsborough Academy is a contracted provider with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice who initiates all program referrals. Hillsborough Academy is contracted to provide behavior modification and mental health overlay services. Program services include:

	Comprehensive mental health and medical diagnostic assessment upon admission
	Individual and daily group mental health treatment services
	Comprehensive psychological and psychiatric evaluations as deemed appropriate
	Social and life skills training to include victim awareness, employability skills, substance abuse and gang prevention groups
	On-site educational services through Hillsborough County School System
	On-site recreational services
	On-site medical services
	Comprehensive case management services to implement individual performance plans
	Care and custody services delivered through a structured behavior management system
	Family system intervention and treatment services

Sunshine Youth Services Hillsborough Academy began operation on September 15, 2005. Facility Administrator Dallas Scott states “Through Dedication, Perseverance and consistency we work to maintain a family atmosphere while providing a therapeutic environment with structure and discipline in order to prepare our youth for reentry to the community”.
