Columbus Juvenile Residential Facility is a 50-bed moderate risk facility which began operations in March 1, 2004 specializing in sex offender treatment services to youth who have not used force, threats, or weapons in the commission of a sexual offense. The length of stay at CJRF ranges from 12-18 months serving males between the ages of up to the age of 18.

Columbus Juvenile Residential Facility is located at 9502 E. Columbus Drive, Tampa, FL 33619. CJRF is a contracted provider with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice to provide intensive sexual offender treatment. Program services include but are not limited to:

Comprehensive mental health and medical diagnostic assessment upon admission

Individual and daily group sexual offender treatment

Comprehensive psychological and psychiatric evaluations as deemed appropriate
Social and life skills training to include victim awareness, victim empathy, anger management, employability skills, and health education as well as the incorporation of Restorative Justice Philosophy
On-site educational services through Hillsborough County School System

On-site Culinary Arts Program

On-site medical services
Case Management services to implement individual performance plans
Community Case Management services specializing in assisting the youth and family with successful reintegration back into the community
Care and custody services delivered through a structured therapeutic behavioral management system

Executive Director Brian Farriss takes great pride in the successful implementation of the development of a therapeutic community through extensive treatment team and family involvement. Mr. Farriss states “The youth we serve must be informed opposed to be confronted to better assist with successful development of skills needed for everyday practical challenges”.
